Statistical Comparison of the IDL from 2000 - 2002
 

The following is a compendium of statistics (overall points, points by hitters, and points by pitchers) as well as the relative rankings of each team per period and a brief (probably meaningless to a real statistician) analysis of each team's deviance from the average value for a particular category in a given period. This should at least give you the ability to determine whether your team was better or worse than the theoretical average for a given stat/period.

Let me know if anyone has more of a statistical background than I do and can suggest any additional analysis that might mean something (or just might be interesting and informative to see)... -Brown

Notes:

(1) These stats only include the years 2000-2002, because the 1999 IDL was conducted under vastly different rules (i.e. it was done under a salary cap and a particular player could be on more than one team at a time).

(2) Also be aware that a major rule change occured before 2002 in that there were four (4) active SP's in 2002, but only three (3) active SP's in 2001 and 2000. Therefore, the average team pitching total for 2002 is much higher than those for 2001 and 2000.
